Despite cold weather, there is enough capacity in the grid and outages are not planned for February 23.

Minister Herman Halushchenko stated that on February 23, there will be no scheduled outages in Ukraine, even despite the increase in electricity consumption because of the cold weather.

The energy system of Ukraine produces enough electricity to cover the consumption needs so there is no need to introduce scheduled outages.

‘The generation has enough capacity to fully meet the needs of electricity consumers, as well as a significant reserve’, the minister said.

There are electricity disruptions in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. They are caused by recent Russian artillery and air strikes.
